How does it work?

FirstRent properties are let on a standard Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST). An addendum to the AST offers you the opportunity to purchase the property you have been renting after 2 years for a pre-set price. If you take up this unique opportunity then FirstRent on exchange of contracts, refund the rent you have paid over the last 18 months of your tenancy, plus of course the security deposit you paid at the time of signing the AST.

So what's the catch?

There really isn’t one. All you have to do is observe all of your obligations under the AST, such as paying rent on time and looking after the property. You also need to seek the advice of a financial advisor so that you can be in the position of being able to buy the property after two years.
